counter strike source i realise is a difficult comparison considering the time of development. But which do you prefer to play; the most adrenalin kicking and killing satisfaction?
 
I find them completely incomparable play styles. I wouldn't compare COD to BF for the same reason.

CS is certainly the more refined gameplay, but the "**** out and shoot things" style of MW has appeal as well to me.
 
depends at what level we talking about messing about on pubs or decent level

cod4 is as good as cs and you need to be as skilled as cs in comp cod 4

+1 Anything with iron sights is a lottery spamathon.


Of course, the real questions should be RTCW or CS - the answer being RTCW :D
 
COD 1 to COD 2 wins hands down imo.

I will probably give the new CS a go though Im just utterly fed up with all the ranking levelling BS that is prevalent these days. It was the worst thing that ever happened in fps. If you want to level **** off to warcraft.

agreed .

kill streaks, unlocks, loadouts, etc are just wrong and have ruined a whole genre for me. Give me back RA spawns to guard and quad runs :)
 
CS was great, ruined after 1.3 in my opinion though. Went and had a game of CSS a couple of weeks ago, first time in years and it looked weird but still loved it.
 
COD games quickly get boring if you are having a bad day and I found mw2 didn't hook me nearly as much as mw1.

I used to rush home from school everyday to play CS and i always go back CS:S these days. Even if you die every round there is much more scope for doing things differently than the COD games which mostly involves going prone in trees in more competitive games..
 
The better question in Quake series vs CS series :p Personally I'm a fan of Quake but out of CS and CoD you're probably better off going with CS if you want a game with a high skill cap.

That's coming from someone that hates CS btw :)
