Has anyone here used a third party co. to carry out a PPI claim on their behalf?

If so were they successful?

I ask because I've just received an offer from my bank. How is payment usually made to the third party?

Weird. I've been getting an e-mail a day about these PPI claims. Are they legit because they're going directly into my inbox and not spam.

You pay the 3rd party after you get a successful claim back. You pay via bank transfer or something like that.

I see.

I've just received my offer. Going to accept then send to the bank. Then I'll just wait for the 3rd party to contact me.

The dirty work involves filling in a few forms. You've basically given them 400ish for absolutely nothing.

Thanks for reminding me lol

Well that £400 is money you wouldn't have had anyway if it wasn't for them telling you to begin with....

If you were mis-sold PPI then its money you should have had for years as you shouldn't have been paying it out for a service that you were not entitled to use.

They were on 'Watchdog' recently were they not?

Basically, they do ~some form filling on your behalf and take large amounts of money for this. It's all something you could do yourself in a very short space of time. It's not complicated, unlike they make out.

Yeah I know, but the point I'm making is that so many people are in that situation, but unless it's brought to their attention then most of the time they're none the wiser. So if they hadn't brought it to his attention he may well have been none the wiser and not known about the money anyway

And that means he should give away 25% of it for nothing.. err... how exactly?

It's dumb financial decisions like that that made people buy these ridiculous PPI schemes in the first place :p

If I could go back in time I wouldve written the letter myself lol.

These companies are not worth signing with....

I called the bank and got the ball rolling, didnt even fill a form, 2 months later a cheque for 2k.

A 20 minute phone call.

That's all it took.
