This is my boyfriend's dog Pip last Christmas. Just thought I'd add a little Christmassy pic
Had a bit of potentially sad news yesterday, Pip hasn't been well since Christmas, seemed to be a bit disorientated and walking into things a lot. OH's parents took her to the vet 10 days or so ago, and the vet discovered she was blind in one eye, which could explain the disorientation. She put her on some kind of painkilling tablets because she'd hurt her back getting herself stuck under a dining chair.
They've gone on holiday (are back tomorrow) and Pip is staying with my OH's grandma and granddad while they're away. His grandma rang yesterday and said that she was getting worse, falling on her side and just laying in her bed, not her normal self at all (she's a typical bouncy terrier normally). She took her down to their local vets yesterday (which incidentally is where we take our cats and we know the vet there really well) and after a really thorough examination, he's got a gut feeling that little Pipsqueak has a brain tumour.
He says it *might* not be, but that's where the signs are pointing. He gave her some anti-inflammatories yesterday, but grandma didn't want to give them permission to do too much, with her not being their dog.
So when his parents come back tomorrow (they don't know about yesterday yet) they'll have to decide whether to do CT scans, etc, and see where to go from there. But she has gone downhill so rapidly, it looks like the likely cause and that there won't be much that can be done if it is the case.
Cross your fingers for little Pip
