SCENTS....

Can you go to a bigger town or use the internet?

e : Is this a post modern slant on the inherent weaknesses of seaside towns even where internet is widely - almost universally - available? Are you ... Flann O'Brien?

WHY oh why do manufacturers insist on putting different scents in every bleepin` product they make? don't they realise not everyone wants white lily and crystal rain washing liquid and some people are allergic to such scents :(.
You walk up to the sulky looking shop assistant explain such predicament and ask for original please for them then top shrug and say "people like the flavours".

Ok rant over :) `gets coat and leaves`

Strong username to post content ratio.

I'm not a Mum yet :( nor do I use mumsnet gotta get married first and we don't live in a seaside town. Also doesn't help im as blind as a bat so probably are things about I just don't see em :D

You can get scentless everything from the right places - anti-perspirant, shower gel, washing up liquid, washing powder, floor cleaner, everything. Shop around a bit online and buy in bulk.

I feel your pain, though - I don't really want to wander around all day with clothes that smell like spring jasmine or damp woodlands, but there's not a whole lot of choice :(.

Idea for new company: Bacon-scented cleaning products! Make your home, your clothes, your hair, even your teeth smell and taste like bacon!

I actually didn't expect that to happen :/

e : just saw OP's sig. Never mind, she's one of ours. Stand down, gents. I don't even know, I've been drinking.

I don't understand your humour, normally I pick up on such things easily.

Are there scented toilet rolls now-a-days? Imagine finding out you're allergic to that by surprise............

My 'joke' was that I was pretending that she was ... am I really explaining this ... a mumsnetter. That was the joke. It was intentionally unfunny.

It's 11:50 on a Thursday morning

It's 12.53am Friday morning here. Timezones = science!

Ok, see you all tomorrow I think :o

I literally don't know of any washing up liquid without scent. Even original smells of something, and is it even possible to be allergic to a smell?

i know what you mean OP. i have a similar issue, i don't mind some scents and they don't give me a rash or anything but i do get headaches if it's a particularly strong smell. i try to buy only natural products from here and will pick the fragrance free ones, but often still many manufacturers are putting strong scents in their natural product so it's hard to find a solution.
