Sick in the head or a justified sense of humour?

Off topic but whats wrong with toilet humour?

Everybody finds something funny, even racist and necrophilia jokes

There is nothing wrong with toilet humour, however you were implying that there was something wrong with people who do not find that kind of humour particularly funny, which is just daft.

haha, so I am stupid because I don't like South Park.....yeah cool.

I understand perfectly what it is...I simply don't think it does it very well.....it is certainly not underrated given the 'worship' it receives.

Learn to read. I said 'majority' not all.

Expected you to at least read points properly.

I think the reason South Park has achieved the status it has, is due to the fact that nothing is off limits, they will do an episode about anything crack-babies, britney spears, tom cruise being gay, racism in sports, Human Centipede

I fully expect to see an episode about the Cruise Liner on the next season

He said the majority, not all.

if you read the entire post, he reference me specifically....saying that if I watched it more and paid attention that I might 'get it'

I already 'get it' and I simply do not like it very much.......as I said sometimes it is funny...most of the time it is just gross.

I understand the surreal parody it portrays, I just think that others have done it better.....Monty Python for one.

you dont just happen to get run over by a train by accident (it would have made national news).

People get accidentally killed by trains every year!

As for the OP, not nice at all and very dis-respectful, if that was the severed head of a family member or friend of mine I'd be extremely upset and hurt, as would the majority of people if they were honest.

No I didn't. Had I wanted to aim that post specifically at you, I would have done so.

Don't speak on my behalf or put words in to my mouth.

I understand that people who work in jobs that are of a particularly distressing nature have to make light of their work. Jokes about situations and practices probably make it a lot easier to do the job. However there is a certain level of responsibility that they should uphold, and here he is crossing the line. It's very unprofessional of someone in his position let alone extremely disrespectful. He should lose his job in my opinion.

where you not speaking to me?

you certainly quoted me and you said this:

"If you watch it more and pay attention a bit more it's a intelligently well written program", that coupled with the previous statement saying that it is not 'fully understood' by most people implies contextually that I am of that majority.

So I'll say what I wish, and if you do not want to be misunderstood make yourself a little more clearer when quoting people and using the personal pronoun......

If it wasn't meant that way, then fine it is a simply misunderstanding, only don't accuse me of putting words in your mouth or speaking for you, when I was replying to something you stated to me originally.

:D

You said you didn't watch it very often and you described it as 'gross out' humour. It is only gross out humour to someone who doesn't watch it very often.

Again, I didn't call you stupid, I called the majority of people who don't 'understand' it stupid, but I didn't *really* call them stupid, just said they didn't get south park. Not you. Which is what you did say, right before you spoke on my behalf, instead of questioning my meaning :)

My reference to you, was if you watched it more you might start to understand it better, it's a television show that has evolved since the early series that had the stigma attached to it that it was just toilet humour. It's now a very good social and cultural parody, in which no social, political, cultural or religious group is off limits.

It's amazing how my estimation of one of the more intelligent posters has fallen so dramatically over two or three posts. You've made yourself look a bit daft.

Jay794 I'd rather not comment on your posting as you prove time and time again me correct.

Your estimation of me is totally immaterial....you made a statement, worded in such a way as to imply a certain opinion.

If that was not the case a simple explanation would have sufficed, instead you chose to make accusations......

You clearly said that I was not 'fully understanding it' while at the same time as stating that the majority of people who don't understand it are stupid.

can you not see how that could be misunderstood?

Instead you are now calling me stupid again.......

Really....I don't think that you can quite fathom that you made what I took to be implication....and even if I misunderstood it....calling me stupid again just reinforces my original opinion.
