**The Official Nokia Lumia 800 Thread***

I have to ask, with Google Contacts, Live Contacts, all of them can be pulled onto anyphone you get now, why do you NEED your contacts on your sim?

My haptic feedback has stopped working now as well, I get a very very slight nudge which is barely noticable... What is wrong with my phone :|.

and now it's working again, I always get duds...

Mine turned up today, charged it and played around, battery lasted only around 5 hours, I knew the battery life needed fixing prior to ordering, love the phone, screen is amazing and thats coming from an iphone 4s!

Love the phone so far just hope they fix the battery life quickly.
i think there is an update this month for battery enhancement

As per below with instructions from TristinR, I was using a laptop and pressing the wireless button to turn off network. I also turned on airplane mode as it kept checking via mobile. You should get an error about no network if you do it to early. Just keep on trying.

CollapseIt's an easy trick to force an update to your phone. Using the Zune desktop (connect your phone), go to 'Settings' and 'Update'. Here Zune starts checking whether there is an update for your phone or not. After about 3 to 8 seconds, disconnect your network and wait untill your computer says 'Update found' (might take up to a minute or so). Then plug the network back in and start updating. This has all to do with the way the update process works. No update found does not necessarily mean there is no update, just that you're not allowed to get it yet. If the update has been scheduled for your device and you disconnect at the moment it finds an update (right before the Microsoft server sends the 'block this update'-signal), you will receive a Zune notification. Once you receive the update-message, you can continue the update process same as anyone else.

Doesn't work for me though :|, I get a bloody error like last time I tried updating and only resetting my phone worked.

its weird, I've got 2, a blue and a black both sourced directly from nokia, both with different software versions (both showing the right battery capacity) and they both say they're up to date.

Although to be fair I've had no bugs so I'm not too concerned.

Ditched my iPhone 4S I liked this so much.

both, I've had plenty of android phones and I can't bear how cheap and tacky the software and apps and handsets often feel. I hate having to trudge through a thousand rubbish free buggy apps to find anything.

then along came nokia and wp7 with a really polished device and software and I'm surprised by how happy I am!

Been hitting update and disconnecting my network for an hour now with no luck. Are we sure there's not an easier way? Unlocked Nokia supplied handset on T-Mobile here.

Same here, I got the software update but no firmware update, have given up for now. handset was purchased simfree, not sure if this makes any difference?
