Just a quickie,

Does anyone know if the CSA calculate how much you must pay based on your Gtoss Pay, Net Pay or Disposable Income. In other words will they take into account that £400 of my take home £800 monthly wages goes on Rent/Council Tax? I then have to feed myself for a month with whats left and pay for gas/elec.tvlicence and stuff

Pay before tax. They subtract a allowance for essentials for which you will need to provide proof of expenditure. If you have any debts such as credit cards etc they could'nt care less and don't take them into account. Basically prepare to be shafted.

Gross pay. Comes out of your pre-tax wage. At least that's how I understand it.

I have 4 kids so if ive read it properly they can take 45% of my pay. So i cant pay rent and live off whats left :(

Wouldnt be so bad if id kicked them out she just decides to walk coz she will be better off alone on the dole!

Yup, all those kids, they'll screw for for having so many kids and now having to support their upbringing like a parent might.

That's the risk. As a parent you are supposed to support your kids. Therefore the more kids the bigger the risk.

It's not fair to punish their upbringing because of a relationship breakdown. Until they're adults they're what you must put first.

The way mine is worked out is. i have 3 children which is the max they account for. They take 25% after tax and insurance is taken. So it somes out of your net pay. If you can then prove you have the children 52 nights or more of the year, you get some discount off that. Now this is how it was when mine was set up a few years ago and it hasn't changed so the rules must be the same. Also if you move in with another person who has kids then you will get more taken off.
