Anyone have any experience with these? I've read they are quite a steal for £60 but I want some headphones for gaming. What are they like in FPS, easy to soundwhore?

Yes but best paired with Dolby Headphone capable device.

Superb for single player in that combo. However, for multiplayer, you want realtime mic monitoring through the sound device as without it you can't hear yourself. That leads to me getting a bit shouty and in trouble with the missus.

I'm on same boat as the OP...

Is it actually better to this over a Corsair Vengence 1300 at around £50 ish, or the Asus Vulcan ANC for around £70? Comfort wise the Corsair and Asus seem to be better with the better padding for the top of the skull and wider headband...

Good question. Goldring's have been replaced by the Panasonic HTF600's, as the recommended phones, so very few people have been talking about the NS1000's lately.

I did see a couple of people who had NS1000's that broke, but how old they were, I don't know.

Any idea how the htf600's compare with dolby headphone? Ive not been on here for a while so must have missed this! Im looking to replace the dr50's with closed back's as my new gtx480's fan is loud ;p

what the cost of these?

£30 or there about. I think there are only two people who have compared them to the Goldring's. One thought the Panny's were better, the other thought they were as good as the Goldring's.

I have a pair of NS1000s for gaming, paired with a e5 and a Xonar d2. I'd get an e6 now a days mind.

They work fine once you've set it up. Dolby headphone is like a dream. Battlefield is heavenly.

As for QC issues. I was one of the unfortunate ones who had an issue with mine. However I think it was an odd batch. I got them repaired under warranty by Goldring and the new ones have L/R labelled, and haven't had any problems with them.
