I know we use this system to send email's to other members for the members market but I was wondering if there is someway that this is monitored by the OCUK forum staff? Can our mails be read in any way or is it all private?

worst i dont want to get caught dealing outside of MM thread ever..

seriously though, i imagine its just a mailer script that sends the initial message so no.

While we are on the topic, can the admin of the forums please make a simple change that puts the registered senders e-mail into the To box. That would complete negate the main problem with the trust message system, people replying and sending e-mails to [email protected].

I understand there is a clear warning, but people not familar with the trust message system can and do overlook this. I don't see it being more than a tweak to the current coding, I'm of course no expert on php so who knows.

Thank you kindly! ;) :)

Yeah I suspect I'm not the only one then who wants that altered then! ;) I mean for all I know it could be a huge challenge to code it that way, but if it isn't then it would definately pay to make that change as the whole system would be much better for it. :)

i imagine it may cause issues if youre going to spoof the sender address if anyones spam checking checks the orginating domain and finds the mismatch.

Well good to know then at least though it beats me why the PM system is disabled here would make life far far easier and it could be made available to those who qualify for the Members Market too.

Answer is here:

Private messaging is disabled for all users except Admins, Dons & Underbosses. This is to prevent excess load on the server.

What do you mean, those who are not familiar? Ive sent hundreds of messages and I am STILL doing it.

lol, I'll admit it, I've done it a few times last year but thankfully noticed quite quickly. Be great if an admin could look into the code for it.

This is the root of the issue.

Faking a 'sent from' isn't really advised.

And OcUK can't very well go emailing from your actual accounts..

I've never understood why this forum doesn't have PMs enabled. It can't be that much of a server load surely seeing as every other forum seems to cope pretty well with them enabled.
