Does anyone here have the ability to make something like this for me. The material needs to be 0.5mm-1mm thick... Aluminium would be best I think

Painted black preferably, otherwise I can just spray paint it

I wanna put it in the bottom of my case around the PSU and pump. The holes are for water out and water in to the pump. The res will sit above the 25mm hole feeding the pump

I'd certainly clean up your attitude considering you're requesting help. This may assist you further http://bit.ly/oy0RdG

Zpos, you have to agree that his comment was completely useless? If someone asked for help deciding on new hardware for a PC and someone replied saying "well you should probably buy some hardware" it would be about as useful

If he had said its easy to make yourself and this is how I would do it then that's a useful comment

Merely stating that its easy to make is not useful. He was not offering help

Anyhow moving on...

+1

anyway, why must it be out of aluminium, knocking one up of wood would take 2 minutes and then you can paint it black or cover it in vinyl or whatever - a lot cheaper too

It needs to be about 0.5mm thick, perhaps even thinner as theres a tiny little gap the back side of the box has to slot into. Do you think wood would be safe right next to the PSU and the heat build up and cool down might warp it?

Just out of curiosity, how do you plan on checking for leaks at your pump?
As there will be no access.

In regards to your last post, i read your link and in it you said you weree going to make one out of aluminium. Have you actually tried?

As panyan said aluminium is expensive, wood is cheaper. However you could make it using a side panel from an old case.
2 pieces of angle iron and a hammer and a couple of clamps.
Cut out your size-443mm x 366.
Measure out your cuts and bends, using a thin marker pen.
With a dremel or jigsaw make 2 cuts, to allow you to fold the end(36mm hole) down.
On the other 2 sides add 10mm to allow for an overlap, total length=365mm.
Place the end where the cuts were made between 2 pieces of angle iron. making sure both are inline with the marked line and clamp tightly. Press the the strip down using your hand or block of wood. Then using the hammer tap a long the bend, until you have an even edge. Do same for the 2 10mm overlaps.
Then do the same for the other 2 sides.
You can either use metal glue, solder, spotweld or pop rivets to fix end panel to the overlaps. Bit of carbody filler down the edge or any ripples and then spray.

Nice, I don't think anyone's going to want to spend their own time making this for you now. Pity :p.

I was about to try but when I measured up the piece of aluminium I have it isn't quite big enough. I got a piece 500X200 for £3 so its not too bad. The reason I thought of aluminium is because it can be very thin, the gap it slides into at the back is 0.5mm thick. I am going to order a larger piece from fleabay again to have another go

Reason I posted here is because I know some people actually make stuff for a living, I am prepared to pay for the service of course, I am not asking for a freebie

With regards to the comment about "TBH its easy to make one" not being helpful I maintain I am still correct in my statement. However I do appreciate I should have just ignored the comment rather than post what I did. I noticed I had an email about a reply to my topic so I went over to my PC (seconds after waking up) and was frustrated to find that it was merely a nothing statement

So I apologise for my grumpiness I should have just ignored the post

@Idleman

thanks for taking time to make your post

I am still concerned about using wood though

do you not think it will bend and warp as the heat in the case increases and decreases? Also, is there a risk of fire?

Why not go down the local tip pc or repair shop and get a side panel off a pc case.
Also get some rubber trim for the holes, stop any chaffing.
If you use wood, you may have to router the ends to fit the gap.
