Which 1155 board £150 budget ?

^^ I saw a TTL about it and there was hardly anything in it at all, there was some difference but nothing even worth bothering about really. The 7970 is just a monster of a card regardless of the socket it is in.

Stoner81.

I have the UD4 version of the Gigabyte and not got any issues, all seems to be going ok :)

Nice work on the watercooling. :p

Asrock one seems very good at a good price and nice looks that goes well with a corsair 500r white, as soon as i get rid of the ton of hardware i have i'll get one to go with a 2500k, thanks for the advice guys.

One last question.. watching vids of the board now i realize there's not much room at the top of the cpu socket, will it fit an artic cooling freezer 13 pro?

I second this :) cracking board in my opinion.

3rd this, unfortunately I have got to RMA my ASrock as it has a dodgy slot and also the onboard sound is borked. Other than that it 'was' a fantastic board.

Purchased the ASUS Z68-V/Gen3 and swapped over last night, works perfect, straight into the uefi bios and set my i2500k to 4.6ghz again.

Al working sweet, now awaiting the 7970 tomorrow :)

Narrowed down to two: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD5-B3 and the Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3.
The GA looks better (to me) and seems more feature reach, similar to the V pro, and cheaper, is there something important i'm missing?
Need to get one tomorrow from a retailer with those 2 brands only...
Thankssss

Good choice :) Really don't think the ASrock boards are quite up to scratch quality wise just yet despite their current popularity.

just got the UD5 and 2500k, now the system it's complete :-) is there something in the bios that i should turn on/off i have an ssd if that helps.
thx

Enable AHCI on the SATA controller, do this ideally before you install the OS as changing it after will certainly cause a BSOD.

Got the CPU now at 4.8 at 1.32 vcore as well now at the same vcore. The asus shofar has not missed a beat very solid board.

LoL got 4.4 with the UD5, just changing the multiplier to 44x and disabling pll, voltage on auto at 1.37, if i try to increase the multiplier just keeps resetting and have to clear cmos :-( just want something not so extreme to leave always on should i fiddle with other settings?

Had both the UD5 and the V-Pro. The V-Pro was the better board, higher and more stable overclocks with lower temps. The UD5 was about 5c higher at stock settings.

The added bonus of the Asus are better features (Bluetooth, DVI out, Lucid, Quicksync) plus UEFI bios which has other benefits.
The Gigabyte is the better looking but has very little else over the Asus.
