Current Specs:

Windows: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 32Bit
CPU: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology EP45-DS3P
GFX Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 512mb
RAM: 4GB Kingston HyperX DDR2

I'm upgrading my PSU & CPU Cooler to this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 460 Superclocked 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £111.95
1 x XFX Pro 650W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £74.99
1 x Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366) £25.99
Total : £224.93 (includes shipping : £10.00).

Because my current PSU is unbranded and I have no idea what it is, also I have a stock cooler. When I buy these I will be overclocking my computer to around 3,2ghz if I can.

What do you guys think of my upgrade? I don't have a lot of money to spend but I really do need a good CPU cooler & PSU.

Now I have a Antec 900 case (http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=MTEyOQ==)

I have no idea if this stuff will fit in it, I suck at looking at the measurements.. will most likely fit though I think!

So.. opinions?

To be honest they seem quite high budget compared to your current rig. However if you are planning on upgrading more in the future it may be worthit.

You could get this cooler instead, would work well if you planned to upgrade in the future and is £40 cheaper.

Seems whenever I ask for a CPU cooler spec that's not too high budget it always comes down to the Tranquillo :D I guess I'll get it.

Any ideas for a GPU upgrade? Will most likely not get it in a long time but some ideas would be nice. I don't want anything too high priced

That's what I don't know. I might upgrade in the future if I have the money or not!

For what you have at the moment, i would get the PSU, DEFO. But i would just get Hyper 212+, about £20+ if you look around. This is more than enough for a 3.5 OC.
An i5 upgrade in the future would probably cost £4-500 and you still be able to psu and the cooler. I had the same cooler on my [email protected] and now it is on my [email protected].
You might also want to get win7 64 bit and get the full use of your ram.

The tranquillo is very popular. Your PSU choice is good too, I want to get my hands on one of the bequiet L8 630W PSUs to check it out (It's slightly cheaper and the cables are modular)..... Sadly they are out of stock :(

A good budget GPU is the EVGA 460 SOC. People do suggest the 6850 but the SOC has cuda support and can be overclocked even further by your goodself for extra FPS :)

I agree, as usual :P
I'm surprised Hono didn't say, you'll notice in my sig I've got one and got it to 850Mhz no problem! Good GPU for the price.

I'm trying to keep my replies short mate. Lately i've been prone to waffling too much lol

I would still opt for a good 600W ish PSU. Especially if you are into overclocking that is going to be drawing more "juice", plus it's nice to have some headroom for future upgrades :)

lol. Fair enough, good to give lots of info so people make their own choices though!

I agree, the PSU you originally specced OP is very good and will last you through several upgrades :)

My RAM is only 4gb? I thought 32 already uses the full 4gb, but anything over is 64bit
