People who make you lol on public transport

I was once coming back from Oxford with a flask of samples stored in liquid nitrogen, I put the bag it was in behind my seat. A little bit later the bag fell over and some of the nitrogen started to leak causing a white mist to form.

I got kicked off the train.

I was on the London underground, minding my own business, when the guy opposite me starts making eye contact with me. He clearly wanted to spar, and I took that as a challenge, stood up, and did my crane stance, ready to fight him then and there. Suddenly, however, the train went around a corner causing me to lose my footing (balance is still something I'm working on) and I fell to the ground.

Unperturbed, I rose to my feet and went back into my fighting stance as quickly as I could, but alas, my rival still wasn't ready to face me before the train went around another turn, causing me to lose balance again. This happened a few more times before I realised that he was beating me without even lifting a finger.

I must admit I lost my cool and anger welled-up inside me. I decided to leave, defeated, humiliated, my most troublesome battle yet. He taught me a valuable lesson though, that I must learn balance, both physically and emotionally, before I'm ready to challenge someone as skilled as he is. I will train every day on the underground until I'm ready to challenge such a master again, I may fall, but I will always rise, I will be calm like the winds.

I look forward to our next battle, master.

:D

I can spot a wig at 375 metres so if you are out with me then you may well end up embarrassed as I am drawn to wig wearers & suffer bad Tourette's when around them. :o (<You gotta love Hitler smiley)

Including people who are on Chemo? Your nice!

Best thing I ever saw on a train was travelling to york to see my dad. Some chavvy girls were sitting at a table with one of their phones out, blaring tinny music at obscene levels. Some lady politely asked them if thwy would turn it down and promtly got a torrent of abuse for her troubles.

As the train was pulling into Newcastle some bloke in a suit got up from his seat picked up his bag and wandered down the isle. He stopped at the girls table, picked up the phone and removed the battery. Then he continued on his way down the train and got off.

The girls were pretty stunned at first but then went proper bat**** crazy. Two of them chased him off the train but im not sure if they found him or not as theh train left before they got back on. This prompted the other two girls to burst into tears and call their parents. When the conductor came round he couldnt care less what had happened to their firends as he had also asked them to turn down their music earlier asnd been met with ignorence. The whole carrige was creasing themselves and it couldnt have happened to a nicer bunch of people.

Awesome

Me too. People are too stupid in the morning.

1) The train is clearly late and busy because the previous one was cancelled. There is room in the aisle but no one moves down to fill the space and let others on. (Until I asked and of course there were sighs)

2) In order to let people get off of the train (and give yourselves more room) and let others on... don't you think it would be a good idea to get out of the way and get off the train to let them off??

Stupid people.

How about don't cram yourself onto a train that is already practically full.

The people you are asking to "move down please" don't want to have to stand uncomfortably in the aisle just because you are trying to get on a train that you should have been earlier getting to.

Wait for the next one - you're not going to die being at max 20 mins (having a realistic guess at how frequent your trains are) later getting to your destination.

Another good one is our local well know drunk who goes by the namke of Magic sometimes gets on the bus hammered and starts wandering up and down the bus harrassing people. It is usually at this point that the driver breaks very suddenly causing poor old Magic to tumble to the floor cursing to the heavens. When he eventually picks himself up, smiles round at everyone and begins to harrass people again the driver does it again. This continues until Magic has got to his stop and he normally leaves the bus on his hands and knees. :D

I said it wasn't full and that had it been full I would have gotten on the next one? When there is room to stand (with handholds to hold onto) in the aisles I don't see what the problem is?

Some people just don't have common sense.

Have to agree.

I usually get a seat so its not a problem but you can see it in peoples faces when they get on, they look down the isle and go "hmmmmmmmm nah ill stand here"

If it is not full, then you yourself could easily go and stand in the aisle...

If there's a single person standing blocking the doors, then yes, they're a complete and utter moron... if there's plenty of people on board and you just want to get on then you should go stand in the aisle. You're inconveniencing the people who have got on the train with plenty of time to spare and who have chosen a comfortable place to stand. Why should they have to lose their spot because you are later than them? If you're saying you can't get past them to stand in the aisle yourself... then the train is too busy and you shouldn't be cramming on it.

The strangest one I remember was from before I moved to London and I used to commute in by train.

I got to the train one evening as it was about to leave Euston, at rush hour you are always likely to be standing if you aren't there when the train doors open. So as I walked along the train, I was finding that all the doorways were crammed full of people already. Ahead of me I saw some people jump out, and when I got to it, there was a little space, so I got in. As I did so, the man stood next to me, who was struggling to eat a Pasty which was going all over the floor, turns to me and says "HELLO!" at the top of his voice. I could now understand why I had seen other people get off! So I had like a second to decide whether to stay on the train, or wait 30 mins for the next one. I decided, how bad could it be and the doors closed.

Turns out I made quite a bad decision, as the train ended up being delayed and took an hour and a half to get to my station. So the entire journey I and the other passengers stood near me had to endure this drunk old man. He gave everybody nicknames based on what he thought they looked like, frequently tried to start sing-songs which didn't happen. Aside from his pasty going everywhere, his phone had been ringing numerous times. One passenger eventually pointed it out and he gave the phone to them to answer. It was on speaker phone and the guy who answered was now talking to the man's son. The son then had a very cautious... "Oh know, my Dad's not causing any trouble again is he?".

It was just a very weird and long journey having to listen to this guy and his drunken rants and stories, along with probing questions of me and the people around me while the whole train could hear!

No that's simply not true at all. If the aisles were completely empty, yet the areas by the doors were full, then there is definitely still space on the train. So if you can't get past those who are standing, the only option is to ask them to move down.

I've seen it time and time again, somebody will come running up to the packed train, start bleating out "move down please - we want to get home too!" (lol - the next train will still get you there you know! duh!) and if anyone offers to let them through so that they can stand in the aisle, they start muttering under their breath and act all put out, all because the sensible people who have got the best spots won't sacrifice their space!

pioneer, are you a bit simple? It's quite clear what is meant there. Everyone is crowded around the doors as they're thinking "I'm only a couple of stops away" rather than moving in to the train to create room. So when it comes to the next stop, there's a big group stood by the door despite they don't need to get off, yet don't want to stand in the aisle as they're only on for one or two more stops. It's really not difficult to fathom, why are you struggling with this so much?
