As mentioned in the title my budget is around £1,500. If someone can come up with the best gaming configuration for the money, would be appreciated.

Currently running with:

AMD Phenom II X4 995 Black Edition @ 3.21 GHz
Corsair 4GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5850 2GB
850W PSU

Hard drives, I already have 2x 1TB of, including 64-bit Windows7, not sure about an SSD or not.
I can keep the PSU and my current monitor is a 24" LG, but wouldn't mind dual display :>
Also not sure if I should keep current GPU and crossfire? or just invest in a new one!

Thanks in advance.

I can keep the PSU yeah, and my current monitor is an LG 24" 1920x1080 which I;ll keep, although I wouldn't mind dual display for convenience :)

This would do good if you already had a quality power supply.

Cheers for the post. I took out the Optical drive, the Mouse & Keyboard, since I have Razer peripherals.

Is the i5 2500k really much better than an i7?

And I'm guessing more than 8GB RAM is overkill?

i5 does the same as i7 in gaming, unless your doing heavy video editing / 3d designs etc i5 is a lot cheaper and same stuff.

8GB should be enough, anything more is kind of same as i7/i5 comparison

The i7 is better for stuff like video editing however if only gaming then it makes little to no difference getting an i5. Yep 8gb is more than fine for gaming.

Beaten to it.;)

In terms of gaming there is little to no difference between the i7 and the i5 so you might as well save the money and get the i5.

Now here is a build I have put together since you have said you don't need HDD's (you have 2x 1TB ones), mouse, keyboard, optical drive and PSU.
