Spec me a decent Graphics Card from the Sale

Most of that was aimed at ALXAndy's increasingly wearisome diatribes, trying to find every avenue to rail against NVIDIA even when it makes no sense -- like with 3D Vision. Which is clearly a topic with which he has no experience... And this to the point where his posts become political rhetoric rather than offering any meaningful advice in the context of the original post.

Yeah he just sounds like an ATI fanboy/troll who won't listen to reason.

ALXAndy, unless you can back up your claims with a source it's simply not possible

Also you compared a newer generation ATI card to a (soon to be) older generation Nvidia GTX580. Not exactly a fair comparison is it? I would save your opinion until Kepler is released and then make a fair comparison

This thread has gone from "if you want 3D better go Nvidia !"

to

ALXAndy hates Nvidia.

Why? because I have proven that 3D is easily achievable with an AMD card?

If you already have a 3dvision kit (IF) and bought a hideously expensive monitor to do it with and already have an Nvidia card? stick with it.

But buying an old hat over priced video card and THEN spending the money getting it going in 3D is bonkers.

Listen. Don't start insulting me. I've been accused of not knowing what I am talking about.

Go and watch the video I posted. It's an AMD rep setting up 3D using Tridef.

Are you just wilfully ignorant, or trolling?

It's also bonkers to claim something is possible when it isn't and you have no proof and a quick google shows no proof that it works so yeah trolling.

And now thanks to this discussion I have made my decision to stay well away from ATI because this is how they try to convince people they are better...instead I find flaws in your method and approach.

Did you watch the video? go and do so now.

It shows an AMD rep setting up 3d using a Radeon and Tridef software.

No there's no guarantee that Tridef would work with AMD cards....

Drop the sarcasm and re-read what I said. This is why I called you out on either being wilfully ignorant or trolling. Because if you had understood what I said you'd realize the issue with your claim here. Come back when you have a better grasp on the topic.

Is it Nvidia 3D Vision or some other 3D? Because I'd rather not waste my time (and money) if it's the latter

It's an AMD card running Tridef.

If you are actually interested in this and not just arguing over it (I'd much prefer it if you could actually discuss it and not resort to insulting me) then read this.

Nvidia 3D vs AMD 3d using Tridef ignition. If you can't be bothered to read it all then simply look at the end conclusion of -

Two Compelling 3D Solutions With Strengths And Weaknesses

IE - they're just about as good as eachother, with one being better at some games and vice versa.

I just saw that video, it's not Nvidia 3D Vision, it's some other crap, same as the other stuff I see that just can't compare.

That settles it. I call trolling!

Come back when you have actually looked into it yourself.

Both using Tridef? Compare it with Native 3D Vision support in NVIDIA Drivers that DON't NEED Tridef then what do you get?

And the difference between the Nvidia 3dvision driver and Tridef is?

They're both drivers, and they both allow you to run games in 3d.

The hardware they use is pretty much the same technology, so it falls back to the software driving the 3d.

And they're about as good as each other.

I'm done listening to you ALXAndy, you've done nothing to convince me and just insulting my intelligence. Can't argue with a Troll, they just beat you with experience and take you down to their level

I'm done with this thread and got my answer many posts ago no thanks to you

NO IT's NOT the same. There are a plethora of incompatible technologies. You don't even understand the technology. Sounds liek you've never even used it. Then why are you in a thread trying to give advice on that topic? What makes you qualified to comment on it? Just because you saw a few videos and did a bit of googling, suddenly you know the ins and outs and pitfalls of the tech?

Sheesh... Stay out of the thread if you've got nothing useful to contribute.

AMEN

Now you're just trolling. If you CAN'T use a NVIDIA 3D Vision kit with AMD GPUs then it's NOT an option. Or it means throwing it away. Do you need it spelled out to understand?

Where did I say you can use a Nvidia 3dvision kit with AMD cards?

Do you deliberately not read what I type? or, do you get to such a state where you misread what I actually type and take it in the light that you want it to be in so you can immediately come back on the offence?

If I were you I would count to ten and read back what has been said here.

You said that 3d on AMD is not as good as Nvidia. I say - it is. It's just about as good. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

You say that AMD can't prove it. I post a video of AMD showing you how to set it up.

You say thats' not good enough, I post a link to Tom's hardware showing the two of them being put directly against one another.

You then immediately resort to name calling and cries of troll.

Don't worry, it's a natural defence. Most people do that when faced with facts.

Liquid crystal shutter glasses all work in the same way. Lots of people have used them over the years.

HAHAHA. Oh my god!!! Just give up you troll!

You purposely side stepped when I asked you if it supported 3D VISION which it CLEARLY DOES NOT so its basically USELESS to me.

I don't care about your fan boy arguments, take them to someone who cares, I created this thread for advice that's relevant to me but you're simply HIJACKING it for your own means and to put your very flawed and inaccurate argument across.

So basically what you are saying is that you are going to buy an Nvidia card. That's that, end of story.

*sigh* you should have simply said that ages ago.

You see, this thread is titled "Spec me a decent graphics card from the sale".

Not "Spec me an Nvidia card and don't bother bringing anything else to the thread".

And then you accuse me of being a fanboy? That's rather rich, what?

You're the one saying he's going to dump £600 on a 590.
