will try dns ideas tomorrow or saturday.

Looking at that tracert Level3.net in the usa is causing an issue, using a different DNS probably bypasses that or the issue was fixed today.

That tracert shows that sky isn't the problem, glad you got it working though :D

proof as in when I change the port settings the download speed is a tenth? It hasn't really bothered me as such...just changed it and carried on

Nobody cares about downloaders as they're not responsible for distributing the files.

You know how you PAY money to a company who then for the fee, maintains a working server of illegal content..... yeah, that IS being responsible for distributing the files. If people didn't pay usenet providers to run the servers, the content wouldn't be there.

They don't APPARENTLY care about usenet yet as, P2P is generally easier to find people, and they haven't had a huge amount of success prosecuting people.

Honestly if it gets to that point they'll be trying to arrest 1/4 of the worlds(with internet) population due to downloading illegal content, it won't be feasible, they keep going after small numbers while governments generally don't react to it and kick up a fuss. Going after a few people can cause trouble and potentially make them some money, you wouldn't want to be that one person for the sake of not checking the ssl box on a options menu?

is it likely you'll get caught, no, is it possible, yes, can you reduce that risk, yes, does it hurt you in any way to check that box, no, so why the hell wouldn't you?
