Can someone Analyse this video for me?

Hi All,

Just having a listen to some of this guys drumming on youtube and on this video it looks as if the mic on the hi hat is actually going through the hi hat? implying that it has been edited in.

can someone have a look at it for me and possibly work out if it is or not? the guy is saying its an optical illusion but im not convinced...

It is the lighting/shadow of when it is close which makes it camouflaged. Not really that hard to work out.

yeah I can see that now, I could only watch it in 240p earlier but now I have waited 20 minutes for 1080p to load I can see it easily

They went to all the effort to record the drumming and popped a fake microphone in for luls.

It's shadow.

We actually have the same mic and hi-hat combination when we play live.
There is a hole in the top of the hi-hat that the mic goes through and it gives a really brighter sound as the hi-hat lifts.
Google "hi-hat hole microphone combination"

The stick in his left hand also keeps disappearing behind something. Definitely something odd at the bottom of the screen.

EDIT: When pausing it seems to be a trick of the light, but at speed it really looks odd!

Yeah its definitely there, its just the lighting causing a heavy shadow on the mic when the hi hat is open. If you look closely at the XLR lead coming from the mic, you can see if move slightly here and there, meaning it is without a doubt there.

On a side note, this guy seems to be getting a lot of attention. I have seen various people posting his videos up on Facebook from all over the place. I did however like the one he did of Skrillex!
