Has anyone ever filled out a counter terrorism check before?

Good point. Was it common for them to be rumbled in that fashion though? If it was rare I'd probably still risk it. I'm such a rebel.

Quite an in-depth form as you'd imagine. Some odd questions that I guess need to be asked, e.g. Have you ever been involved in espionage? Overthrowing a government?!

Anyway, has anyone here filled one out? How long did it take to come back?

Yeah..it took about a month.

The have a system in place that meticulously checks evey German to see if they are telling porkies..... which begs the question of why ask in the first place :D

CTC should be very straightforward, "expected times" are BPSS 4 weeks, 6 weeks for SC and 3 months for DV. But there does appear to be delays in their system at present from my recent experience, but that's not dealing with CTC.

I always thought it was amusing that when you enter the USA, there is a question on a form that pretty much exactly reads like this:

"Have you ever been a member of or a member of a group affiliated with the Nazi party of Germany circa 1939-1945?"

I mean really, who ticks yes?!

The pope?

Went through the Developed Vetting procedure for a posting when I was in the forces, took a couple of months had family & friends interviewed by MoD staff.

I'm surprised at these lead times.

CTC does usually take around 4-6 weeks, but I've never known SC be less than 6 months :/

[edit]Though, I suppose, the vast majority is renewals.

Mine took about a month or two...

To fill in... then a month or two to get back to me. Some of the questions were quite strange and almost pointless because if you answered yes your application would prob go straight in the bin :/

Didn't get the job in the end either :(
