Woke up to find this all over my Facebook, Why do people feel the need to vandalise things especially art work like this.
So much scum ruining my home town.

Would be better if there was a before & after pic to be honest.
I've never understood vandalism though & even as a kid I never smashed things up for nowt.

Are you sure it's not just part of the 'art'?

No that sculpture is about 10-12 feet its been there a few months now, the paint was added last night.

That is actually a cool statue. Vandals are retards, What more can you say.

It’s sad to see this kind of act becoming more frequent. I guess the mindless morons in our society think this is a manly act but it just shows how mentally deficient they are. A week in the stocks daubed with paint would make for a suitable punishment.

Its cool dontcha know? Stick it to "da man" and all that!

(mummy and daddy didn't love them, and now they have to take out their anger on the rest of the world in an immature and futile attempt to gain the attention they so lacked as children)

Art is subjective, that could be an improvement in some peoples view.

But vandalism is juvenile, pathetic, and uncalled for, I've never understood it.

It just represents the rage of the alienated, lost and uncared for.

I'm reminded of that poem Stealing by Carol Ann-Duffy.

It is rather sad.

And that would make it ok?

Banksy probably started out as a "vandal" and then realised he was actually capable of doing more with his talent.

Agreed this sort of thing is stupid and I do wonder why they chose to do this instead of drawing something nice on a white wall

What was is that?

Oh, and to answer your question, because they have absolutely no intellectual capacity at all.

kd

Hit the nail on the head, the kids are more than likely morons, raised by morons who will go on to raise their own little morons.
