Hi Guys,

Is anyone aware of any legal method of downloading retro games? I know Steam have some Mega Drive games but not all. I'm talking the likes of Road Rash, NES games etc.

Thanks in advance.

GOG are PC though, without a real Nintendo console all downloaded SNES etc games will be illegal. IMO pirating a 15-20 year old game is somewhat more justifiable

I went down the route of buying a NES but it broke not long after purchase.. bad times! Really and truthfully I just want the ability to play these fantastic games again.

They don't make them like they used to. I mean Road Rash was badass and Monkey Island as well?! Classics.

I honestly feel downloading a rom for a 20 year old game isnt going to decimate the gaming industry.

Thing is the likes of Sega are re-releasing many of the older titles so you can understand that they wouldn't be very happy with it.

I simply had to throw out my Amstrad CPC and all the games when moving house as it was causing so much clutter; it which broke my heart. :p I'd debate whether me using an emu for those would be a bad thing seeing as I'd spent a fortune on hundreds of those games and owned them.

Oh yeah I've got Monkey Island.. I was just getting all emotional talking about retro games! Used to play it so much when I was a kid.

I was so happy when the released Monkey Island on Steam with redone graphics. There was the hotkey button you could use to swap back to the old school ones. Ah, nostalgia!

I think I played it entirely on the old graphics first time round.. Might have a blast on it tonight to reminisce.
