Backstory: My girlfriend and I just moved to Japan and live in a fairly small place just outside Sendai (where the March Tsunami was). Anyway, today she gets approached by a random guy who started talking to her. She spoke to him in politeness through his broken English but it soon became apparent he was complimenting her good looks a lot and mentioned a rucksack he'd seen her with several times before, though she didn't have it with her today. Stupidly she gave him her real mobile number and he text her this evening...

The English is terrible, obviously been through a translator, but you can get the gist. What should we do?!

Why did she give out her mobile number to a stranger?

I think this guy fancies a bit, and has asked her out. It doesn't sound particularly stalkerish. Just get her to say she is with someone and let it lie.
 
Her response to why she gave her number out was she was too confused and didn't understand what she was saying until she'd given him her number already. All sounds a bit suspicious to me. :(
 
It was naive of her to give a stranger her number, but that can't be helped now. Surely she just needs to explain she is with somebody and the matter is over? I wouldn't say he was a stalker just because he's interested in her. If it goes further and he continues to press then by all means you may want to get involved, but just sounds like he likes her to me (?)
 
Send message back saying "would you like to see whats under my skirt" when he repplies yes send him a picture of your junk, no more messages
 
You can't blame this guy if she willingly gave her number to him. If he obtained it by other means then yes, that's wrong.
