FAO [TW] Fox BMW COMMIT HERESY?????

The E class coupe is available in 4 and 6 pot diesel. What would Audis version be? A5 probably? The A7 is saloon only I think.

The e class coupe and A5 are executive rather than luxury i would say, based on the C class and A4 respectively iirc? More in line with the e92 than the 6 series?

Mercedes confused things slightly with the C coupe and the E coupe as they are both built on the same platform, but the majority of the parts in the E coupe come from the E saloon (70% iirc). The C coupe is based entirely on the C platform.

Someone in the BMW engine design dept has been buying shares in turbocharger companies

What are the black dots on the front of the front wheel arches on the F10? Is it a parking sensor or a see round the corner camera? There's also something similar, but squarish on the X5 M50d.

Not going to happen. They need DI for emissions.

Americans still get non DI, mind.

There is an additional issue with DI in that DI equipped petrol cars at EU6 have particulate limits unlike port injection. So they could end up with a Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF). Bit OT and obscure but any idea if the US engines meet SULEV30?

Are these to compete with the S-lines then ?

EDIT - not sure where these sit, missed the performance figures. I understand "sporty" 2.0 diesels for company cars, but presumably these are not going to be far off the proper M cars price wise? Why would you pay £60k for a compromised car.

S Line is more of a trim than a performance derivative like these.

Plus the M Performance cars wont have dampers filled with concrete.

I think the SULEV compliance aspect is quite complicated. Not many of the BMW's do meet SULEV30 and those that do must be specifically ordered as such, so the standard cars dont. This resulted in a revised version of the M54 (The M56) that was filled with all sorts of expensive to fix, complicated nastyness (Though this part of the car does benefit from a simply bonkers warranty, over 10 years IIRC), err I mean wonderful emissions equipment.

Given that you must specify you want a SULEV variant when ordering I'd imagine the same applies today.

No, thats M Sport.
