Noel Fieldings Luxury Comedy

Mighty Boosh is brilliant, just takes a bit of time to get into. I have been meaning to see this but the adverts put me off. Just looks a little too weird and abstract for me.

I didn't think he ever claimed he was a goth, he takes the **** about it because thats what people call him.

I had 5 mins of it, to see if it was an improvement on things he'd done previously.

It's as bad as the Mighty Boosh, which I didn't think possible.

Wrong. It's not as bad, it's worse

It actually reminded me of Vic and Bob's big night out without the humour, just saying stupid things for the sake of it in the hope people found it wacky and far out.

I don't find him funny, I didn't find the Mighty Boosh funny, I didn't find this funny and I think that actually makes me normal.

People I know that find him and his shows funny are students and smoke copious amounts of the green stuff. Luckily for Fielding that still gives him a healthy sized audience to pitch at and have as a fan base.

Yeah, you're no more normal than anyone else cupcake.

Thought it was alright, me'self. Not particularly funny, but watchable enough.

Echoes of Spike Milligan's shows in places. Not that I'm comparing the two talents, you understand. Just that there were plenty of Spike sketches that relied on absurdism over punchlines, as was found here.

The relentless "ooh I'm sooo random" didn't become as tiring as I thought it would [I'm not a Boosh fan by any means for that very reason].

I think it'll be interesting to see how much character/situational development occurs as episodes progress, so I'll be tuning in next time.

I also have my suspicions that if this weren't Noel Fielding, but some unknown foreigner, the program would have been received better, perhaps even gaining a bit of cult status.

I wonder if it will be like the Boosh though. First time I watched it I was like WTF, second time I thought ahhh its OK, then the third time I was hooked.

Reminds me of when Simon Amstel ripped into Fielding in NMTBC. "Ohhh funny are you Fielding, It that how it works... you say funny words and it works does it - you throw out weird words - hippopotamus and juggling - anyone can do that! I've got facts based jokes!"

Ah that was so good. Can't stand NMTBC now. When a show relies on Phil Jupitus and Noel Fielding for jokes, not worth watching.

What made the Boosh so funny for me was the writing and performances of Richard Ayoade, Julian Barrett and Matt Berry; these guys expell great amusement in any of the varied work they produce, where as Fielding has sadly not even approached their standards in my opinion.

He's a quirky-comedic chap but I just don't think he works well when he hasn't got some truly established and talented comedians to bounce off of.

Big fan of the Boosh and I've also seen them live, which was hilarious.
This was so disappointing, it wasn't even funny.

As others have already pointed out, it's a similar style, but it just doesn't work without Julian Barrett. Further to that, the Mighty Boosh is structured with a story and Noel then plays a character(s) in the episode. This was just a miss-mash of weird, triply sequences that made little sense.

Will watch one episode but based on multiple appearances on NMTB and literally the worst standup I've ever seen when he pretended to be a fly for 10 minutes on Live at the Apollo I'm not expecting to like it.

So far mate I think you are, I'm just about to watch the next episode to give it one more go.

edit//// turned it off after ten minutes.. How can anyone call this comedy. Bob Monkhouse would turn in his grave.
