App for converting DVDs to iPod?

Is there an app to do this, to convert DVDs commercial and personal to iPod format. This would all be for personal use.

Can Handbrake actually convert straight off the disc? `i thought you would need something like Rip It to get the file that you could then convert?

you need ripping software or you will get corrupted playback dvdshrink i use

I've not used it properly on Windows as that PC takes about 6 hours per movie but on the Mac, Handbrake initially complained that VLC was missing. Since installing that, however, it has ripped a fair range of discs without any issues.

Yeah, Handbrake can rip most DVDs and convert it straight off the disc in my experience. It has run into a few where it couldn't decode the, but I'd say it's been around a 90% success rate for me.
