Hi lads I just read Gibbos post on 7970 pricing and that he wanted to aim at 399 pounds come febuary for a 7970 which is excellent news.
If that is the case what will be the rough prices for a 7950?
I fully understand that you wont be exact for obvious commercial reasons but a ruff ball park would be awsome and much apreciated. I am currently trying to figure out what to buy and I cant quite afford 400 bucks for a gfx card. I am worried my budget wont make a 7950 either as I have to get a SSD as well. Looking to buy at launch prices if it is the 1st of Feb. Oh and I know you have stock saw that pyramid shaping up nicely good to know you get a lot of stock hence why im not worried about launch prices you guys seam fair with prices and at least explain yourself many e tailors would have never responded to that guy wolves bashing of your prices with out a understanding of market forces. Glad you responded showed you care about us thumbs up
for the response I personally dont mind pricing of any kind so long as it justified and explained which yours is. Pat on the back
Heres a section quote from gibbo on weekend deal pricing. A guy wolves was saying 7970 pricing was to high to put it in context.
We did our best to get stock at a right price, but with supply still on constraint with manufacturers as they have greater demand than supply, no one is willing to cut deals yet on 7970 series, though I do predict as February progresses, this will change.
My ideal target is to try and get too £399 Inc. VAT but with current costings it is not possible and will require some movement from AMD to make it possible.
Fact is our competitors can list at £419.99, they can even sell 1or2 pieces at £419.99, but no one will sustain it on volume. Here at OcUK we are shifting volume and this is why pricing has increased.
OcUK gets more stock than any other etailor, we know this and so do our competitors, its probably why they hate it when we post up large pyramids of cards pre-launch because we have the stock to do so with.
Were here to stick around, that means making a profit and aiming to sell 1000's of cards, not just a few here and there at a cut down price.
any info would be welcome as were only a few days away from rumoured launch 1st feb and im trying to get funds together from bank accounts and money transfers in time they take a few days.
look forward to hearing from you or anyone else who has an idea on ruff pricing here in UK with our current 20% VAT rate.
