I got a very old computer, and after dissasembling it I found this card:

Picture10.jpg

Now, I have no idea what this is. Could anyone shed some light?

It has one 26 pin black connector and a sticker next to it saying "Index-Scan-In"

It might be! My Nan works in Morrisons and this was the computer that powered the photo machine. They've just had them all upgraded now though.

When I opened it up, the dust was so thick you couldn't even see the colour of the cables! :p

EDIT: Just looked at some pictures of PCI Parallel cards and they all seem to have 2 rows of 13 pins. Mine has 2 rows of 9 and 1 of 8.

did Raymond Lin take that second photo :p

back on topic i have literally no idea what it could be

Not sure who he is so unsure whether to be offended or not! :p

Sorry, haven't got a good camera, but after looking at the chip, it appears to be a video decoder.

It says:

CONEXANT
Bt848AKPF
VIDEO DECODER
BN5402.4
0018 KOREA

In that case it's probably the interface for some sort of CCTV or specialized video camera (possibly something like a Photoshop).
