Would this still be possible if its true at all ? surely the British military would come and overthrow you.

In August 1990, an unemployed French nuclear physicist named André Gardes attempted a singlehanded invasion of Sark, armed with a semi-automatic weapon. The night Gardes arrived, he put up signs declaring his intention to take over the island the following day at noon. He was arrested while sitting on a bench, changing the gun's magazine and waiting for noon to arrive, by the island's volunteer constable.

That wiki page is very interesting; one of the last feudal systems around apparently. Very confusing.

According to wiki it has a population of 600. I'm pretty sure OcUK has a population of more than that. Why don't we have a meet there, invade it (shouldn't be too hard, pretty sure someone on here has a mac 10), and rename it OcCI (overclockers channel islands). We could make it a nerds paradise....

The whole invasion of the Channel Islands is still a sore point for some.

Sark has 600 population but that's probably in tourist season, much less at the moment.

Easier task would be to invade Herm where there's less than 100, or Brecqhou with under 30 (but you'd have to deal with Barclay Brothers). Or even Lihou where there's only a couple of people at any one time.

Do they all just commit incest or what?

edit: genuine question btw, do they just go back to england and bring some people over? I'd imagine with there being 600 people most of them are surely related? :S

Anyone up for organising an OcUK invasion? If we can rustle up an invasion force of maybe 10-15 of us armed with no more than harsh words I think we can take it.

I have never met or spoken to anyone who is still sore about it and I have family who lived here during the time.

They arrived, met zero opposition and the islands were occupied. We were liberated. Yes occupied, but it was no war zone. Some people live in countries with more oppression from others/governments than Channel Islanders got from the Germans.
