Even if you have to fire to get them to use their flares, I've always found there's enough time to reload, lock on, and fire another before they get said flares back. It won't kill them, but it'll definitely cause them trouble.

The real pain is a Little Bird with an Engineer sat in the back repairing it. Those things just don't die.
 
Thanks for all the replies, the problem is I can't really wait for someone else to fire as I don't have anyone to play with, so I'm just stuck with random players and it's a complete lottery as to whether I'll get on a team that wants to play like a team, or whether I'll get on a team where 90% of them want to snipe, fly transport helicopters with no passengers inside, take the tanks away from our base and leave them somewhere completely useless, or just generally act like a bunch of idiots. :p

Is there any effective launcher against aircraft? If not I can see myself getting very annoyed, especially when I have attack choppers constantly hitting the objectives with rockets and cannons and my team mates decide that lying in a bush 1000 metres away or driving a tank to the opposite end of the map is the best course of action. :D
 
Playing alone really is a much poorer experience on this game, you really need a squad of mates, does nobody from here play on PS3?

The 12x scope is okay, but you tend to have to compensate for bullet drop a lot to make it useful. At close range, it's too zoomed in, and I end up wishing I had a wider view.

Lower zooms leave me missing targets (at least with critical hits), so they are also out. Saying that, if you wanna go running in there, these are more practical.

The night vision scope is USELESS! 1x zoom, plus is doesn't spot people from very far. In fact, my own eyes are damn well better at spotting people at that range than this heap of *****!

SV98+Straight Pull Bolt+7x Scope seem to be more alll purpose for me.

Just waiting on one knife takedown for the L96? Anyone use it, what you think compared to the SV98?

I've just been playing as Recon recently to finish off my service star for it, and I've been whoring with the SV98 and just the normal Holographic sight! I've managed to get a shedload of kills with it (~250+) with just the holo :p

Got a right jammy 322m headshot with it from the top of the TV station the other day :p

I preferred the SV98 to the L96... only 10 kills with that versus 525+ on SV98 :S

Looking for people to play with, I usually only play with 1/2 mates and even then we are getting noobs in our team. My Gamertag is 'Dazeski'. I have this game on PC and 360 now and imo PC is a much, much better experience.

REALLY sorry to waste your time lads, but I think I'm going to get this on Xbox 360 next month, so I won't be adding any of you as I won't be playing it for very long on PS3. Thanks for the help though. :)

Surely levels where you blow up America will never get past the loonies over there?

I mean, carnage in Iran is fine, they're the bad guys, and France is as foreign as makes no difference to them lot..
