So, it's official, Women are better at parking! :-O

"However, the extra time paid off leaving 52 per cent of women parked in the middle of each bay, compared to 25 per cent of men. This category proved particularly punishing for the men’s rating as it was the most heavily weighted in the coefficient."

Surely bouncing off other cars in the process of parking in the middle of each bay should lose them points?
 
Women bad at parking, well some of them must take after me as I take up two spaces in the supermarket car park.

Mrs Sim scares the living daylights out of me when she drives. I won't even bother to describe some of her parking. :D
 
Just noticed this in the article:

"Figures from the Driving Standards Agency last year disclosed that tens of thousands more women fail their driving test on parking errors than men."

I'd rather believe statistics from the DSA than a car-park company... :p

well, this explains why men were marked down. i suspect the women parked so badly on their first attempt that they needed to reposition, whereas the men were close enough on their first attempt, meaning that once the manoeuvre was complete for the women they ended up slightly more central

also, whats all this rubbish about looking for a space being taken into account, and being more likely to ask if someone is going to leave a space?

i'm still going with my dads opinion on this. having been a driving instructor for a few years now he can tell me that generally the women are worse at parking and reversing

Yeah...what the hell is this part for?

I park defensively and will miss 12910291029012 spaces and go up 100 stories if it means parking in a defensive position and not coming back to dents/scratches/2mms of space between my car and some other muppets.

Apparently this means I lose parking ability points.

Stupid research is stupid.

This.

Study is BS, my girl cannot park at all! She drives too slow around the car parks holding all the traffic up and i still end up parking for her.
Id much rather have a few off centre parkers than spend half hour queued because some female is not capable of spacial awareness!

Then again the main gripe here are the more foreign people who think double yellow lines or hash markings are private parking for their leased vehicles.
 
We all know that women are only better parkers when using a flawed test.

They got lucky. This time...

... but hey makes great news! I'm sure there was nothing else that was far more valuable that people could have seen on the news this morning.
