Yup Spar has always been expensive,Thankfully there is a Lidl right opposite ours...which are much cheaper,Milk is a good 30-40p cheaper and so is bread.

Spar will probably be another to go into Liquidation,But their fault for been greedy.

2L diet lemonade for £1. Plus,

3 for £1 in iceland

they do promotions on branded stuff periodically.

birds eye chicken chargrill thinigies were 75p a box the other week

milks always £1 aswell

iceland is closer to me than my corner shop so meh (i dont buy the cheap ownbrand pop though they do 2x 3l bottles of diet coke for 3quid)

Spar is a rip no doubt - but I gotta admit its saved me many times (we have a TRUE 24/7 365 days/yr Spar in town). I say "true" because in many places in the UK they have the balls to say "24hrs" - until you look closely and see that it closes at 1600hrs on a Sunday. So yea...Spar can be annoying but its the UKs 7-11 in a way!

Also I disagree about riff-raff being priced out...I live in a Uni town and I tell you these students have money to buuuuuurn. They empty the shelves of booze on weekends all of them in line fishing out wads of £20 notes.

Also Co-op aint the cheapo store the commercials on TV make it out to be!!

Lidl takes the prize for that. TBH I find Morrisons cheaper than co-op.

coops always been expensive...

the one where i lived in nottingham was always dead apart from the odd old couple...

the one in newcastles city centre is always dead and you would be lucky to find more customers than staff so i dont understand how it stays open..

the tesco around the corner is always packed

I just wish Morrisons would stay open till at least 2200. Co-op is open till that time so if its past 2100 (when M'sons closes) Co-op or Spar is your only choice here.

The student shop in the middle of Loughborough campus has LOL prices. For example, a 2 litre bottle of coke is £2.45, but people buy from them and there is often a queue for the tills.

Therefore they have no need to make things cheaper . If I could sell a fart in a jamjar for £10 then I would! If people are too stupid and/or lazy to go elsewhere then that is not the shop's fault!
