Top Gear Series 18 *SPOILERS*

That was an amazing episode (just watched on iPlayer), the circuit lap at the end was extremely dramatic especially when Jeremy was giving it some!

I really enjoyed last nights episode, minus the star in a car bit but i always fast forward through them anyway!

Very much a return to form i thought after the last string of mediocre at best episodes/specials.

Hope the rest of the series continues in this way.

Definitely enjoyed last night, couple of genuine laughs were had!

Don't really understand the hate for the SIARPC guest - never seen the guy before but every credit to him for trying to help and support other people, much more noble than most of the entertainers you see (and no, I bet he isn't perfect, but he's doing something at least).

One of the better shows. Seemed like there was a real effort to not be over silly and scripted. The cars and locations helped.

The Lambo looked awesome, but I'd have the Mclaren every time.

SIARPC was cringworthy. He's clearly using it to promote all his stuff and not a fan of the series. He's car was like something from the 80's. And the lack of ability in driving a non automatic is always a concern.

I have to admit, as soon as I heard he was from the BAPs I immediately skipped past it.

I find most of SIARPC cringeworthy as they're clearly only there to promote a film/programme/book anyway, and it really shows.

Good show IMO.

The Lambo reminded me of the car in Miami Vice (the recent one)... F430 spider IIRC? That had blue flames shooting out of the exhaust. I was like a kid being told that Santa wasn't real when I found out they didn't do that IRL and that it was just an effect for the movie :o

Really enjoyed last nights episode. The Noble was brilliant, if only I had the money !!! May makes me laugh, the part where he was asking that priest for directions.

Great show and OMG at the cars, but Will.I.Am - terrible. Can't understand why everyone was cheering him, he had about as much craic as a lamp post...

Agreed. Awful guest.

That Lambo is Mental. The noise!!!! :o

I've seen blue gases from exhausts before, so a V12 at 8500RPM may be doing the same thing as I've seen.

Hey ho. What a car tho :D

Thoughts:

Noble = ugliest car since the gumpert
Mclaren = I'd love it, but feel it wouldnt stand out from a crowd unless you got it in baboon's arse red
Lambo = amazing, if wiiiiiide.

I miss Imola. I actually had shivers when Hammond spun off there.

LOL @ the Italian tow truck driver and his phone on a rope :D

As for SiaRPC.. Yes, the guy had the personality of a door knob, but what he did for his family and how much he's given back to the local community is something to comend. Many people would stick 2 fingers up given his wealth.

Finally, The teaser for the rest of the season looked AMAZING. In fact I actually thought the "quiet" trailer they showed first looked decent enough, so hopefully it'll cover something for everyone.

Who's going to bet next weeks episode is a massive let down now? Don't they usually do a quiet type episode after a long challenge / trip.

That's more like it! There's been far too much overly scripted mediocre slapstick based on pretending to be ambitious while being deliberately rubbish, from three presenters who aren't comic actors. This is more of what Top Gear does properly - some friends having a laugh and enjoying dream cars, superbly filmed.

I'd have the lambo. Sure, it's not as efficient or as practical as the others and they're pretty much on a par in terms of performance, but it's best at what I'd most want from a supercar - a sense of drama and occasion, like an opera. If I was spending silly money on a car that's essentially a toy, I'd want one that made me feel like I was 10 years old and had a spaceship! Something that would put a smile on my face whenever I saw it while the 10 year old me in my head pointed and said "wow!". Something you'd drive through a tunnel just so you could laugh like a loon, then turn round and do it again. I'd buy a practical workhorse car for practicality - it's not like you're going to use a supercar to fetch the grocery shopping.
