Im in the process of doing a bank account switch, for better rates.
In order to take advantage of this offer i have to have 2 direct debits to tranfer over, but i dont have any on the other bank account.

Can anyone think of an services etc that i could start up that use DD that i could set up and then easily cancel later? (Lovefilm, Blockbuster etc use card payment not direct debit.)

Gas/Water/Electricity?

It will need to be something new, I already have all my day to day DD, on the wrong account, and dont want to move providers of utilities to fulfill the requirements of the move if that makes sense.

Im looking for some suggestions for non essential type services that are easily cancellable if that makes sense?

Another one of these? Charities.

Has this been asked recently then? Charities, yes perfect thanks
(a yes only 6 days ago, i though it was such a random question, there was no way it would have been asked) mines a better offer than theirs though

Well if you don't have any direct debits then I'm guessing you live at home? You could set up a DD to pay your board to you parents? 5 minutes on your existing online banking.

That's a standing order. Receiving direct debits is a complicated process involving lots of paperwork and an approval procedure.

No, bit more to it than that, HSBC have a switch offer running which is open to existing customers, provided you move 2 DD's over to them, this for me would have to be 2 new and additional DD's as all my existing DD's are already in place with HSBC.

I think they would reject if i just moved 2 from them to my other bank and then moved them back so i have set up 2 new ones which ill then cancel at a later point.
