Bonuses, boo hoo! The people moaning would probably go crazy with excitement at the mention of a million pound bonus, bloody hypocrits.
Almost everything? RBS is owned by the state because it completely ****ed up? The banking industry was insolvent before being bailed out, which is hardly a shining example of the free market.
Everyone falling over themselves to praise the bankers just because it's the opposite of what Stockhausen believes is funny though. You can be right wing and admit the banks are messed up you know.
What is wrong with the bankers? RBS guys should have kept their bonus's. Stupid press meddling with things they dont understand and politicians taking up the call to score cheap political points.
There's nothing wrong with a million pound bonus, being paid a million pounds for running your company into the ground is perhaps questionable though.
But Hester (I assume you're talking about) hasn't run his company into the ground?![]()
For the naysayers, or anyone interested, I'd highly recommend having a read of this from Mark Field MP. Quite sensible in my opinion.
Fred Goodwin should not give a good **** about this, and carry on enjoying his awesome life paid for by talent and hard work.

In the UK, we give them the ball. They look after it for us. If we want it back, we just ask and get it, with no charge. If we want to play with it, again, no charge. If we wish to give it to somebody else, they'll personally deliver it for us, with no charge.
Seems like a good deal.
That depends on the ball[TW]Fox;21162523 said:We don't live in America.

If Fred Goodwin is an example of the brightest and best, I'm very relaxed about city firms not being able to attract them.
kind of, but we're actually playing with one of billions of promises to play with the ball, when there aren't even enough balls to go around.
As much as I agree with the sentiment that wouldn't be the sensible thing to do. I'm sure he'll get it back 'under the radar' albeit over a longer period. However if he had refused to decline it, it could have actually affected his career.

No, we give them the ball and the lend it to someone else. We ask for it back and we get a different ball. If too many people ask for their balls back at once, they dont have enough balls.
