Low FPS in cities with HD 6850? Rift.

It appears that when I go into any city my framerate drops unbelievably.

It goes from 55-60 to 25-30.

I have a 2500k.

I'm only wondering as compared to my friend who's getting 40 or so in cities and 60 outside cities has a gtx460 (generally worse than 6850s)


My catalyst is 11.12, ultra settings no AA. Anything I should chang, or..

Hmm the card you are using is fairly mainstream, and RIFT ultra is demanding on hardware, regardless of AA being off, you might wanna try turn shadows down to minimum that can help boost fps a lot, or the other reason could be ATI's recent dodgy drivers, which many people have reported issues with, something about certain drivers not working with certain catalyst versions, google some information about it.

Hmm, understandable, yet when i'm outside the city I'm getting 60 constant yet the city kills it off? Or is that normal for these types of games (wow etc)
