Doujin game localization studio and publisher Carpe Fulgur has released a trial version of its upcoming action-RPG Fortune Summoners, and has set a release date for mid-January.
Fortune Summoners is a side-scrolling adventure game in which players control a party of three characters. In addition to possessing a unique combat style (one character is skilled in melee strikes, while others attack using magic spells) each character has a variety of special abilities that must be used to solve puzzles and evade traps in each of the game's dungeon areas.

The full version of Fortune Summoners will be released on January 17th for Gamersgate and Steam, with additional retailers to be announced at a later date.

I've played the demo and just bought it. The game currently does have one issue if you have multiple monitors and play it fullscreen, it majorly lags on the menus, but the devs are looking into this. Currently enjoying it though, only an hour into it as well!

Iviv - any good for youngsters? I've been playing Dungeon defenders with my kids (6 and 9) and they keep asking for similar games they can play. While not too similar, I think they could play this if it's not too complicated.
How does same players on one screen work? One on Keyboard and one on controller?

Its entirely single player, there's no option for co-op or two people playing at once. I mention the multi monitor issue just because its a bug if you have them. The game still runs on one monitor just like normal games, just the performance is terrible at the moment.

As for if its good, I enjoy it, the controls are a little tricky. There's a demo available here, and it will be on Steam soon as well.

You could also check out Recettear (demo on steam), translated by the same guys. Its a different game, probably a little easier, and it will teach them the joys of capitalism. Its only single player again, though, but its impossible to really loose, if you do manage to get a game over, you simply restart the game keeping the items you had from the first playthrough, making the second go much easier.

Hope this helps :)
Capitalism ho!

Will definately pick this up, really enjoyed Recettear although haven't had a chance to play much of thier other western release. They seem to have a good eye for translation and enjoyable scripts whilst retaining the originaly gameplay.
