I paid €65 for my last MOT, including €12 because I had a non-standard exhaust.

My car got an MOT even though it shouldn't in some peoples opinions twice, its a infective test as it is, I can't see making it even more infrequent helping anyone but people who run their cars on a budget of zero.

The MOT test is one of the good things I cans ay about British motoring law.

My biggest gripe is the pathetic fines people get for no license, insurance, tax or MOT - But that is another thread in itself .

Would be awful, there are so many vintage cars that so many test stations don't know how to come with and the hassle of arranging MOT's for 50+ vintage cars every 6 months would be a nightmare. IMO very early cars that are only capable of very low speeds should be MOT exempt.
