The wifes 2004 Mini Cooper is at 55k miles and I think that is about right for a major service. A local BMW specialist has quoted £250 - does this seem right for a major service (includes spark plugs)?

Also - she has no service book - can these be purchased?

INCOMING!. Did the car ever have a service history?

It doesn't seem too expensive for a major service at a dealer.

No, the car was a Cat D writeoff and came with very little service history. Very dodgy, but I traced the milage through a couple of garages it visited. It was taken off the road for about 1.5 years whilst the new owner who bought it got it repaired and resprayed. The previous owner did an oil and filter change last year but I want to give it a full service to clean out all the cobwebs.

I'd just get it done at an in dependant garage. The service history is shot anyway

My GF's Cooper had a minor service and new front brakes done a few months back, and BMW were cheaper than a couple of indy's we got quotes from, and by quite a long way too.
