Ive recent purchased from different sources some watercooling gear , its all second hand but in good condition and working order. I want to clean it completely as some of it i can see residue from previous coloured fluids in etc.

What is the best way to clean this ? can i leave it soaking in warm soapy water overnight ? as that would be my first thought as to how to clean it.

i have heard the best way is to get one of those water/air flossers for your teeth and do it with that; it basically like a minature pressure/jet washer and is means to clean it up really well :)

I would suggest use hot water to flush the rads with a few times. Then put the loop together outside of the computer case, and flush the loop a few times with dionisised (how ever you spell it) and add a bit of white vinigar to lift out any coloured coolant that the previous owner had in it before.

Cheers the radiator is from a dubious fellow that frequents these boards so i shall be extra careful with that! :P

On closer inspection of the fittings im finding this in a lot of them , that is one fitting pictured from both ends.

I realise somones going to tell me to buy new but as i am poor atm and saw this advertised cheap i got a bunch of these fittings and a res for very little money indeed.

I was a little concerned this is corrosion ?

To clean a system out its best to fist rinse ever thing out with hot water. The rad take a cap of White clear vinger and hot water and leave it in for a couple, of hours. Once you done that fit the whole system out of the case and rinse thoughtfully with a couple drops of bleech, just use tap water at this stage. Leave it running for about 1/2 hour. then once drained out rinse though with tap water again meaning use a garden hole and leave running for another 1/2 a hour. The rinse though with cheap halfords / tesco / asda di water. now your ready to go.

Re fit into system, add your preferred liquid and bobs you uncle ...

thanks for the replies and advice, ive decided ill just get new fittings as i dont wanna ruin my other gear with the possibility of the cheap 2nd hand ones being duff.

Really appreciate the advice from people and i think ill take mayhems advice for now!
