How hard is it to obtain a pump-action shotgun (legally?)

Why do they need to convince you? If I had my way, everyone would be legally allowed to have a firearm at home for home defence.

Thus increasing armed robbery and armed burglary, we're not Americans mate.

I somewhat agree, it would be nice to be able to shoot anyone who attempted to break into your house, however, if you give everyone in the UK a gun, whats stopping me from shooting and stealing from my neighbour?

Who shot first Han or Greedo?

.22's and .17's wouldn't be my choice *IF* zombies attack but feel free to use them and die :p

Rubbish a .22 can destroy a human brain with a headshot as well as a .308 and it has less recoil and lighter ammunition and weapon. In a zombocalypse anything heavier will be worse. The only reason military and hunters use bigger ammunition is because they require body shots to be lethal, on a zombie a body shot will never be lethal so better to have more ammo of an easier to fire round that is equally effective with a headshot.

.22 is the thinking mans ammunition of choice in the event of zombocalypse. But if you want to use a .308 feel free to use them and die :p

I disagree . 22 is a great round but as my only weapon against humans ? I think not its pretty short range and assuming u are using subs not that powerfull . I have had 17hmr bounce off a fox so I think I would want summit more meaty. 223 /22.250 / 243 would be my choice at long range and a shotty close up .

What would be an example of a good reason? I can't think of one.

Mate has a 9 shot for vermin control . But normally its for speciality shotgun discipline . But has to be on a fac so not the easiest thing to get although depends a lot on your fao

Yep, I forgot about this. Some authorities can be a bit funny about non-avian pests though, and some others will try and limit use to specific areas of land, although they're not really supposed to.

A lot of pumps & semi autos just have a crimp in the magazine so more than 2 carts can't be inserted. In the event of a 28days later outbreak it will take me less than a minute to knock that crimp out and have full capacity :D

Just to add, i value my licences & freedom too much to risk doing that in any other situation.

Pretty much sums up why I got into Archery, just cba sorting out a proper locked gun cabinet. The zombies wont care about you having to unlock it

ps3ud0

You can buy deactivated AK47s if you look in the right places, wouldnt take much to get these reactivated if you really needed to....

The last thing u need with a zombie at the door is googling parts for an ak47 . There is a lot more work than u think . Normally a Bung welded in the barrel and receiver machine out . To much work really .

Best to have easily available guns and ammo that u can legally own now . That way finding parts and ammo ate not an issue .

That's what make shotgun so good . Cheap ammo u can buy and store in bulk with no restrictions . Next up would be 22 rimfire but not convinced how good it would be but cheap and easy to get . And 223 centre fire as the next most readily available

The hardest part isn't obtaining the gun and re-activating it, it's getting hold of ammo. You need a licence to buy it and can only purchase the quantity you're allowed.
