If they'd compromised more than this call then you'd have heard about it - fact is they've listened into a call that a whole bunch of people from around the world were listening into... by dialing a number and entering a pin...
It seems more likely that the number/pin for this particular call got compromised than some super duper internet hackers have compromised the FBI's phone lines etc... which is what some of the news coverage seems to be suggesting.
Oh yeah, definitely, I'm not saying they're hacking phone lines or anything, I just don't think it was passed out of the organisation as an inside job. Email / password hack and then just lift the details of an email invite/calendar.
I sit on military security restricted conference calls all the time and repeatedly tell people to not put the details of the call on the calendar invite, as out company scrapes up all the information from your outlook calendar and plasters it on the directory so other people could just join as well.![]()
