M&S for off the peg pick up, width and length sizes on most suits, spend a good hour there and you will have something that will pass pretty much any occasion.

dont forget.... a good shirt and tie can carry off any crap suit

the last suit i bought was from asda.

it looks very good, fits well (more luck than anything) and it has taken a glass of red wine on the trousers and wasted right out.

best £70 i have spent.

@OP I think it's more about luck than anything else with an off the peg suit. Just try on as many as you can.

There are absolutely loads of menswear stores out there in pretty much every city centre selling formal wear that is of good quality, style and at a decent price, many will also tailor to your measurements for a small fee.

I can't believe you can't find something and have to ask where to look online instead!
