I wrapped it and spoiled it. (lol56k)

I prefer the wood. Much classier. However, thats not to say it didn't turn out well, it did, looks like you did a really good job.

Well wrapped, but wood with creme interior is how should be. Especially that it actually looked like real wood.

Plus carbon fibre is so.. I'm gonna go with - non luxury. Few years and it will be passe - like the chipboard veneer of the eighties or shiny plastic fake chrome of 2000's.

Looks good, I think it depends whether your a fan of wood or not in interiors.

Walnut has no place in a sports car, the carbon is without a doubt better, can't believe how good the finish is! I don't know how you dared take on the task of removing all those parts, I bet ya wish you never started half way through :p

whilst i agree a plain black would have looked better the carbon still looks a lot better than the wood

I think the carbon looks much better than wood which has no place in a modern car (imo) - just looks tacky. BUT I would have chosen a different finish, something closer to the light weave bmw use or even the darker plain trim would have been good

And Range Rovers.

And BMW drivers who like to pretend they own a Rover, so as to keep some perspective, and remind them of what they aren't. Or something. :p

I think the carbon wrap looks a billion times better TBH. The only woods I've ever really liked (or remember liking) in cars are the stained dark green/grey woods such as on Jag dashboards.

It was very challenging at times. Lots of swearing, lots of timeouts so i didn't just get angry and rip the whole thing off and lots of patience.

I read a comment the day before i started taking it all off that helped:

"Any time you feel like you're getting angry or frustrated, just go inside for 15 minutes, get a cup of tea then come out and have another go"

And it really worked. I'm normally absolutely useless at tasks that require patience and care - but that comment really helped!

I just can't get my head around wood trim in a car that isn't a 90's rover or some massive jag.

The thing is, wood doesn't bother me (i quite like the dark wood) but it SO depends on the application. A wood interior in a Rolls Royce oozes quality, comfort and style - because that IS what a Rolls Royce is. Whereas wood trim in something like an 1M or M3 is just wrong. It just doesn't at all reflect what the car is about at all.

I think mine is closer to an M3/1M with its hard suspension, excellent handling and sporty appearance than it is a Rolls Royce or Bentley which suit wood trim.

Yeah, i was all but sold on the Piano Black trim, which looks absolutely lovely, but apparently it scratches and attracts dust very easily and "glazes over" in time, losing it's glossy appearance.

Just been out in the car and i absolutely love the new trim. It also doesn't look as shiny as it does in the pictures though, which is nice.
