Its a little gift from the devs.

When you get the surveillance medal you unlock a dog tag that shows how many kills with the MAV you got lol.
 
Having not got the MAV yet, is there actually a point to it, other than roadkills and boosting yourself into naughty positions? Because I don't think I've ever seen it used for anything else. :p

Its essentially a mobile TUGS device.

You can actively control it and go round the map spotting players for your team. Or alternatively you can just land it on a rooftop somewhere and it will automatically spot for you.

If you are facing an opposition who are in a squad with a SOFLAM and terrorising your tanks, you can use the MAV to take out enemy equipment such as the enemy SOFLAM.

Its a great little device. Not much use on the small maps like grand bazar and metro though.

It gets announced next week. Lots of rumours suggest an "all american" theme to the DLC, so expect lots of levels based in US cities etc.. Rumour also suggests no more BF2 maps.

you won't have seen it because it will of been in the sky out of view showing your position to everyone on the other team :p
 
Had a good few games with MrLOL on conquest, lost some won a few, I was telling him nobody on my friends list plays BF3 other than one mate, they all play MW3 :rolleyes:

Had some good games, he finished 7 for 0 deaths while I had 1 kill for 8 deaths, got raped, last game was good, won the game and I finished top with some assault ownage and MrLOL second.

About DLC I think their is enough quality in the maps, I have Ltd Edition and never get to play on BF2 the maps, I bet I have been on Wake twice out of 12 hours of play, sod off with this money make scam, the maps are perfect, maybe in the summer bring out 4/6 new maps, not Feb ffs

Cash cow keeps on rolling in, how much money do these publishers want!

Picked this up for 17 quid on the one day only offer. Should be hear today :)

I tried the hour trail from ps+ and liked it but found it so hard to find where the enemy was or where the objectives are
 
Been really enjoying playing this on the 360,even my old git fingers are finally getting used to the pad over a kb+mouse!
Although my son still hands it to me on a plate at every chance he gets. :D

He linked me to this following vid the other day,shows just how much detail you miss in the heat of the action,never noticed the animation of the eyes till this.
I know EA get it in the ear for a lot of things but i have to say they hit the mark with BF3. :)

 
I know I've asked this a few times in the past, but it's been a while now so: Have they patched the PS3 version yet, or are voice comms and input lag still an issue?

Its a personal favourite of mine that, especially on Sharqi Peninsualr with people on top of the TV station or annoying MAV riders on top of buildings that your not supposed to get onto. Up to something like 33 kills with it now.
 
I Also love the MAV, mainly because most people just think it's a camera and a decapitator.

i love lighting up the entire enemy team and watching them get pushed back within a few minutes.

it's also laughable at the idiots who think they can actually take one down with bullets.

only time mine get taken down is via enemy MAV's and jav's

you can take it down with bullets, and it doesn't take many.

i do enjoy hovering around and lighting people up and just watching the points and ribbons roll in. but nothing is as good as getting a road kill with it. have got a few hundred last time i checked.
 
Yeah I've shot a MAV down before. A decent flier of one would make it pretty much impossible to do that though, as it's only because the one I got was hovering steady that I managed it.

That video's pretty cool though. I barely touch Recon, so I think all I've unlocked for it is the TUGS. I really should add some of you lot so I'm not just playing public too. Is there a list somewhere?

My M240 eats MAVs for breakfast ;)

You're very much mistaken if you think bullets won't bring it down :D
