New M5 vs 2012 Nissan GTR

F10 isn't exactly amazing now...
Compared to a GT-R? Lol? It also has one of the worst interior designs this side of the millenium. I mean seriously, that centre panel where the CD/DVD drive is appears to descend in to another dimension...

F10 has better feeling leather but the plastics, and thickness of trim isn't all that. It's better than the E60 (what isn't...) but people always give Jap cars flack for having lightweight plastics and stuff like that yet a nice looking yet equally light feeling newer BMW is OMG.

No.

When brand new the E60 interior feels half decent but after a couple of years it's rattling and creaking when you give a piece of trim a push. The F10 will be the same.

You are joking right? The F10 is easily one of the best interiors I've sat in out of the cars in its class. Considerably better to look at compared to the GTR (Fantastic car though)

Not joking at all but I'm not directly comparing the GTR to the F10 either, I'm just saying they feel equally put together inside regardless of how they "look".

My feeling is that the Jag XF feels a LOT nicer inside than the F10 even though the F10 LOOKS nicer, a more direct comparison like for like.

As amazing as the GT-R is, no, Nissan have not yet managed to match the interior quality of an F10 5 Series. Why would they? It's not the sort of car so it's wasted money anyway!

Aye but they do have a model that exceeds any BMW though, that Egoist model. But that also costs more than any BMW so it should be.

M5 didn't disgrace itself tho, but it would have to be one immense car to top the GT-R, bit of a silly test.

Apologies Fox, I meant purely on a styling basis (although I was casually looking at an E60 earlier and thinking about it for a split second :D)

it really has grown on me over the years

Wow I think the F10 in M Sport/M5 guise is a decent looking car (Not stunning but definitely not ugly), on the other hand I think the E60 is horrible, am I alone?

Damn, I thought you were going to give us an objective ownership report or something :p

I've come to terms with the fact the F10 will work for me (Silver, black leather, wood trim), I've no idea what I'm going to do if they turn out crap :p

To be fair I guess it's expected that E60 fans wont like it, as it seems to be almost universal that everyone who loved the E39 and hated the E60 now loves the F10. It's almost as if they left the E60 interior and exterior styling completely out of the design process.

XF?

A colleague of mine has a GT-R which he bought new in November (not sure if this is the newest one tbh) and last week I had the pleasure of a 180 mile round trip in it (I wasn't driving).

Wow, absolutely stunning machine, scary accelaration, but comfortable and a decent amount of space.

Needless to say I want one now, the amount of attention it garnered on the
A1(M) and M1 was funny, through not fault of our own I am suprised we did not cause of accident by the amount of rubber-neckers.......
