Is Battlefield 3 worth £30?

I want Battlefield 3 and was wondering if it is worth £30.

I have seen it cheaper online, but loads of the copies are Russian.

I want to download it overnight, and I have a decent enough internet connection to do so.

So is it worth £30?

Yes it is. But for the multiplayer not the single player which is generic tripe. Hello fellow Northern Irelander.

Yes as above for the Multiplayer as the single player campaigns are pretty poor. I personally think its one of the best FPS games in years. Just hope expansion packs keep coming out for it.

Well worth it. It will blow your mind the first time you play it.

For all it's little niggles, I think it an absolute triumph of a game. It is the pinnacle of gaming at present.

Yeah I think it is worth that money, but not the maps that ship with BF3. You need to get the BF2 map expansion for it, then it really is worth the money.

282 Hours (and counting for me) playing time for £30 is pretty good value. Think I paid £40 though.

Yeah but for sure you can find it cheaper if you look around. But in general it is worth that money.

I've heard a lot about this game but haven't bought it yet - I'm an 'older' gamer and the whole multiplayer thing has passed me by. I've played the earlier Battlefied series with bots and enjoyed it. I can't find any evidence of BF3 bots or mods. Is it likely to happen for PC?

Very doubtful. Why not just give it a shot? There's plenty of communities geared towards mature gamers. You may love it

Yeah the older BF games never had a campaign, so you used to play the multiplayer maps with bots. I actually prefer the bots then the campaign thing as you can run around the maps you play online to find all the best spots for your playing style.

Game is too boring/easy
Maps are too bottled necked/small

Lasted me about 40 hours before I got bored of the easymode gameplay and went to faster paced FPS's which take more skill to play.

Ahh no way, not on the BF2 expansion maps. Those maps are all skill based and tactics. I myself do not like the BF3 maps and I agree they are to small and designed for console play. But the BF2 maps make this game great imo
