Is Battlefield 3 worth £30?

Yes it's worth it and the spec in my sig runs it on high preset with about 45-55 fps with very little.slowdown. would highly recommend moving from 4gb to 8 gb if you can though, really helped my load times.

Russian version here on release £17 pounds I think just need to install language pack after patch also no big deal and as for the Russian version having glitches not here all good and never heard of that one.

I wouldn't pay £30 in hindsight of buying this game. Played it for maybe 3 hours and then unistalled it.

Probably a mistake giving such a short amount of time. The game becomes much much more rewarding the longer you play it. It was quite daunting when I first played it and I am a BF vet with over 3000 hours played on BF2 / BC2.

I purchased this from Origin this morning.

Downloaded and played a couple of games on the Overclockers forum. Fantastic stuff.

Personally id say its a frustrating, bug ridden, unbalanced underwhelming game thats still got an assload of work to be done to it. In other words, a typical run of the mill pc release. "Ship it now, finish it later".

Another thing to add is that teamwork really makes this game. It makes the game 10x better if you play as a squad with people you know.

Ever since the days of W:ET I've always played Medic because I've always found it annoying the people that were Medic's that walked past you not reviving people.

I've always enjoyed playing Medic to this day reviving people in clusters during battle or after killings. No matter what I'll try my hardest to revive people and laying medical packs nearby for them. I'm shocked the amount of times I've played BF3 and very few people play as Medic. Even as I play Medic I rarely even get revived. There are some but it's rare.

sadly i agree. after about 10-15hrs of online play you realise this.

i have been back on bfbc2 and its so much fun and feels fast, polished and my kills are so much more satisfying the action is also more intense. team play still exists in bfbc2. next im going to try bf2 as ive never played it.

i do honestly think that in motion with texture pop, gaps between items, jaggies, general shadow flicker it looks worse than bfbc2 for overall stability and finish

disappointing game

Theres some texture pop in Bc2 as well, the map Heavy Metal suffered from a lot of texture issues with entire surfaces going mental flickering.

BF3 could have been so much more but it was released in an unfinished state and theyre just creeping closer and closer with updates to what it should have been on launch.

And don't get me started about the destruction, it was done so much better in BC2, in BF3 its like the ultimate afterthought. They tried to spruce it up some in the B2K map pack but it just looks dumb, empty concrete buildings somehow exploding outwards when shot like theyve 20 pounds of tnt strapped to the wall.

As others have said, get the Russian version. It is ridiculously easy to convert it to English. I bought it over the weekend and am really enjoying it so far.

As for "Russian Version Glitches", I haven't encountered any yet.

Great game for an intense fun blast .

If you want something you just pop on , go mad for an hour or two then log off , its brilliant.

Im on the russian version here also and it works perfectly , a quick language swap and away it went perfect.

I have 3x bf3s in my house , one on each desktop ( my wife , son and myself all play together for fun ) 2 are English and my one is russian , no difference what so ever !

If you convert the cost of the game into cost per hours of fun , its a bargain , that simple !

It's a good game but it could have been an so much better. That's what annoys me a bit but i still play, plus i preordered for £23 so it was a bargin really. I don't think i'd pay £30 for a PC version now though.
