***Final Fantasy XIII-2***

Just defeated Atlas, Got all the fragments/artifacts i can in that area not all of it is accesable yet :( Guess ill move onto next one as Moogle needs an ability i dont have yet to get the other fragments.

Liking it allot tbh, The monster allies are a nice twist tbh. Music so far i havent minded though im finding its better to not specialise in one role and be more balanced in them all though i have nearly made Serah level 30 Ravanger and Noel level 30 Commander.

Not unlocked Medic yet as i use the monster to heal if needed

Enjoying the game but the music is boring the hell out of me.

Oh dear. Not played it yet, but the music seems to be getting quite negative feedback. Kotaku's impression of the music wasn't too, well, impressive..

It's still so bad that shelling out extra for the collector's edition of Final Fantasy XIII-2 complete with four-disc soundtrack is akin to paying someone $20 to **** in your ear.

The music is awesome! It is one of the many things i love about FF games. I have the sound track in my music library, its good!

So I pre-ordered months ago from Game, and 2 packages arrived this week.
One the boxset game, and the steelbook containing the special features and what not.

But no! The steelbook was empty?! No DVD

Theres not supposed to be a dvd in the steelbook! :p it's a bonus for pre orders, you can put your actual FF13-2 disc in it though! ;)

Edit: Steelbook comes with itself, plus DLC card, episode 1 novella and a few postcardy type things.

Music in the FF games is one of the things I love the most and this is the first where I wish I could turn it off. Stick with Nobuo Uetmatsu I think..

Subjective ofc but this is the only FF I would pay not to have to listen to the music :p

....... well lets gloss over that fact!

On the topic of steelbooks I love them. Recently bought Drive and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
I will definitely be putting the FF13 game in there.

anybody got any advice for beating
caius at oerba? I've been having trouble because of his regen and everywhere I look it says to use a sab to get rid of his buffs...but I hadnt chosen to open up sab yet....so am I screwed or is there another way?

Well...

I beat him without a Sab, so it's certainly possible. I did it on my 2nd attempt.

I started:

Noel - Syn
Serah - Com
Scanbot - Rav

And let Noel get Prot/Sell/Veil etc on us. Switched to:

Noel - Syn
Serah - Sent
Cait - Med

When I needed rebuffing/healing after a big hit.

Noel - Rav
Serah - Com
Cait - Med

When building up the chain and healing at the same time.

Noel - Rav
Serah - Rav
Scanbot - Rav

When I wanted to boost the chain rapidly (when you've got high health). Then:

Noel - Com
Serah - Com
Hoplite - Com

When he was staggered to put some serious pain his way.

Repeated the above and kept the pressure on and my buffs up and he went down no fuss.

My wife did it without a Sab as well. Though her fighting (paradigm) style is totally different to mine :D

yeah thanks...I did manage it just before I went to bed last night!

I went with SYN MED SEN to start with till buffed up. I then changed to COM RAV SEN for most of the time, changing to SEN MED MED when he got the hurtz on me. Finally changing to COM RAV COM when staggered to put some hurtz back at him!

His healing is ridiculous tho, at one point, I went to SEN MED MED to heal and then SYN MED SEN to rebuff and he'd near enough refilled his health from 1/4th to 3/4ths....
I evidently suck at this game...even after completed FF13...It took me like 10 attempts

His regening health is a pain, it's what cost me my first attempt. I didn't realise he was regening. So I was spending too much time in defence mode getting buffs and heals up, so he eventually just whittled me down.

2nd time I buffed up fast, and then just pounded on him relentlessly to stagger him fast, and then 3x Com'd him to decimate his health ASAP.

Anyone playing this that didn't like FF13 ? I am tempted to get this when the price goes down a bit, but I just wonder if I will enjoy it.
I played some of the demo and thought it was pretty meh tbh.

well i trained up for 2 hours and beat it in the first stagger so hopefully tonight i can carry on with the story lol.

...if you didn't like FF13 i doubt you will like this one very much

Got the Collector's Edition strategy guide earlier and today and I gotta say, it's a nice improvement over the first game's version.

The hardcover has that bouncy cushion feel that you get from special photo albums or something.
