Hey guys, thinking of taking my 1st plunge into watercooling so I can O/C my AMD Phenom x4 965. It's all a little daunting.

So what I'm wondering is will a full starter kit such as :
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-114-EK&groupid=962&catid=1532&subcat=

Give significantly better results than something like :
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-005-AN&groupid=962&catid=1532&subcat=

I'm tempted to go for the kit for future expandability, but cash is tight so if an all in one will get me more or less as far as a kit then that may be a better idea.

Advice and opinions welcome. Ta!.

Definitely not unless you have no plans to put anything else under water, and even then the 120 EK or XSPC kit is better than:

Maybe: (will only do CPU)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-114-EK&groupid=962&catid=1532&subcat=

Alternatively (double radiator kits):

[Better radiator (thicker))

1 x XSPC Rasa 750 RX240 Water Cooling Kit £169.99

or

1 x XSPC Rasa 750 RS240 Water Cooling Kit £129.98

if you plan CPU and GPU

The rule of thumb you want with respect to cooling and future expandability is 1 x 120mm fan for each component you plan to cool (including Radiator realestate)

What computer case have you?

The self enclosed coolers aren't very good value for money as you can't expand them easily.

The OcUK V8 kit would be ideal if you have the money. The rasa kits are good, but they have a pump which, for my liking, is too loud

Much appreciated. Price is a touch too high for me right now, but I guess I could save up. :D

Will have a look through now.

Hahaha

Give it a rest at some point though ... By the time I'm done buying all the parts for watercooling my new build (inc bocks / fans):

approx £600
