**The Official Nokia Lumia 800 Thread***

Starting to consider the 710 very strongly now. Can get a 12 month deal with 500MB, 300mins and unlimited texts for £17pm (retention and quidco cashback).

Same deal as what i was looking at for the 800 but that would have been a 24 month contract.

Just waiting for some user reviews of the 710.

It's a very similar device. I can give you a quick run down of my thoughts:

Pro's:
Cheaper price point
Good to hold
Interchangeable back covers
As quick and smooth as the 800
Decent battery life
Light weight

Con's:
Don't like the physical buttons
Sleep button is a little awkward to get to
Tilt sensors are a little sensitive
LCD isn't as good as the AMOLED on the 800
Design isn't quite as nice as the 800

Thanks bud. I had similar thoughts. Do you know if the battery is the same? If so will the different screen lead to longer battery life?

Part of my thinking is that these are Nokias first WP devices and there could be some more killer phones coming out in about a years time for WP8 - so i don't really want a 24 month contract.

Going with the 710 allows me to get a 12 month contract. The main downside for me is that the 800 looks stunning, while the 710 is pretty run of the mill.

The battery capacity I believe is slightly less than on the 800. I don't use my 710 as much as my 800 so it's difficult for me to comment on the battery life. It will last a full day at least which is pretty much what most smartphones do nowadays.

Obviously there will be more phones coming out from Nokia, which of course I can't go into, so a 12 month plan sounds like a good bet.

it doesn't need to, it can still tint the gloss. all white products look gruby after a while. its just the way it is and for that reason i avoid them. made a mistake getting white ipad.

As someone who has had a white iPhone and white iPad for ages, mine are both absolutely pristine.

They are well looked after though...

this is probably the difference. goes to work, hotels and the like.
you should see the hand prints on the hallway and bathroom door at home. you can tell I don't have an office job. God I'm missing it, hurry up and repair it..
