Twisted Metal Demo

I really enjoyed it, never played the originals despite owning the consoles at the time. Think it's one of the few titles I may consider buying on release.

The guy who is making it did tweet that the final game will not be a hard on that mode as it is in the demo. And they are looking at the matchmaking errors too.

Yeah read that a while after posting, am happy to see that! Finally got a game on Nuke online, was lots of fun and really enjoyed it.

Massive fan of Twisted Metal and from what I have played of the single player, it's right back on track. It plays like a Twisted Metal 2 for this generation of hardware, I couldn't have asked for more. I've not managed to get online with it yet and as has been said the AI is on some sort of Armageddon difficulty, but it's looking hugely promising.

I had a bash with a few different control schemes and TM Classic seems to be the one to go for. I would say run through the training a few times with different cars and you'll pick it up no bother. Just don't expect to be winning.

just downloaded and played the demo on my flat mates ps3 having noticed this thread and being a fan of twisted metal 1 and 2 back in the days of the psx. not much of a console gamer these days but it was pretty good and reminded me very much of the original.

had difficulty joining online games, so i played the single player deathmatch which was a little difficult at first as the ai mobs you to death, but if you pick one opponent off at a time and then boost away for a health pack and weapons its not so difficult.

might try and tempt my flat mate into buying the full game :P

Enjoyed the online better than the single player. Not quite sure what I was doing, but still fun. Single player felt like everyone was going for me and only me :(.

Shame it'll have to be a US import if I decide on it, as they are censoring the EU version.

The censoring is some of the cut scenes I think, instead of one of the bodies getting chipped up being alive its dead or something. A shame that it needs to be done but it is what it is. At least with region free gaming you can do as you said.

And in the single player in the Demo they do gang up on you ;) The full game is not that difficult on that setting though.

I had countless hours of carnage on TM2. With friends it was such a fun game. Might have to check this demo out later.

Has anyone seen a preorder with Axel as a bonus character anywhere? I know gamestop in the US are doing it, but the UK store doesn't seem to be.

i preferred the vigilante series tbh, the latest twisted metals just weren't as good as the originals.

vigilante 8 2nd offense i think it was that was epic.

destruction derby did make another game when ps2 online came about, the game bombed though, because unlike all other ps2 online games, you could not use a headset. think it was even called destruction derby online.

people sold it shortly after buying it because online gaming and comms was the new craze back then and with it missing one of them it never really took off.

This is a really back to the essence of Twisted Metal game. I loved the Vigilante games and lost a bit interest in TM after TM2, but this is really back on track.

Only just noticed this thread, loved TM2 and Black so will have to download the demo of this and see what it is like, thanks for the heads up :)

/Edit

Lol, not going to happen, didn't realise it wasn't available anymore, oh well will have to wait for the full version :)

Indeed. I was speaking with a swedelander friend last night and he's missed the demo, considering the delay in the UK(due to censorship) they could have left the demo up a lot longer.

So on to the censorship. Can anyone recommend a place in the US and A to make an order from? I've not imported a game in years.
